Searching for Situational Patterns in Cannabis Dealing, Possession and Use in a Scandinavian Context

Abstract Although cannabis is the most frequent illicit drug consumed in Sweden, little known about situations which trade, possession and use occur. Following a recent strand of international research on effect recreational drugs crime, this study uses unique specially tailored database, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) regression models, to investigate situational conditions offenses as they are detected Stockholm, Sweden. Cannabis coincides with location markets initially delimited by police but also extends over locations far from radar police, such private residences (comfort places). Modeling results indicate that several land (convergent public places) have significant predictive value geography after controlling for other neighborhood characteristics. The article finishes stating new questions making recommendations practice.
